Need some info

In Windows there a way to change what version of Windows you use,threw the registry.Like being able to install some thing on net where it requies xp. I read a post on it here and cant remeber where it was.

The purpose of this is I want to install Neptune and than change the registry to read Win2000 so I can install some drivers and with luck some updates. It just a kill some time venture over the week end.
