Grub for dos Win98.img memory problem

I can get win9x to boot emulated in qemu without no problems, but using the grub for dos inc memdisk when booting the image non emulated i receive out of memory errors, it uses a 20 meg (10 meg used)hard drive image no sector,head etc problems.

Has anybody had a similar experience or will i have to go down the root and boot via syslinux using memdisk.

Any info greatly appreciated
