towerofpower256 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Howdy all. This is my first attempt at making my own windows installation so it's no surprise that I've hit a hurdle but this is really ticking me off. After all the setup files have been copied and Setup kicks in, it immediatly comes up with a message saying: 'SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\I386\ASMS\10100\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS\GDIPLUS.CA_" on line 0.Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message: Manifest Parse Error: An invalid character was found in the text content.'After a bit of experementing I found out that it only happens when I integrate SP2 into the CD. I followed the Unntended Guide on MSFN and I used the nLite method AND the manual method. Also, I used CDIMAGE to make the ISO because the nLite ISOs never seemed to work. Any ideas?
RyanVM Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Make sure that gidplus.man in that folder isn't compressed (doesn't end in .ma_)Now why that's happening, I don't know.
towerofpower256 Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 (edited) Never Mind...Turns out that everything works if you chuck out all of the duplicate files. Thanks anyhoo RyanVM Edit: Nope, I was wrong. Now it's not working at all and I have no idea why. It's strange because I had it working before and now I can't figure out how I did it. Any ideas? Edited October 4, 2006 by towerofpower256
