Messenger/Outlook Express

Hi all Im new here to the forums....

been working on PC's since the 80's

Deg in w95/98 fundementals..work with widowns from 3.1 -XP....present...

Build & repair them

I have aquestion about my Moms pc in NY..

She is running winXp home....

shes had serveral issues.. which I ve tried numerous things:

I tried to have her DL IE6 sp1 but says it smissing components..

So windows messenger was bugging to upgrade... to ne wversion

She did but then 2 blue guys in taskbar.

remove dthe orig 4.6 messenger and tyried the msn6 messenger..no contacts in outlook express now for messenger... so removed msn 6.put 4.6 back

DL'ed windows messenger 5... works .. BUT still no contacts in left side ot outlook express..shows address bar..but no contacts..tried to run a outlook express fix reg prg see if iaf or wab were corrupted..came up empty...

I tried to have her DL IE6 sp1 but says it smissing components.. so cant go there

went into registry, so we could remove IE.. did that..then dl'ed ie6sp1..went ok..but didnt update outlok express to sp1....

tried to redo it again, says missing components...

GRRRRRR.....

She has now ,after this a issue ..which I fixed previously with hompage being hacked.. everytime.. .

had blaster intalled..but no idea anymore what the heck is happening..like abad trojan or something.. and Im getting ticked off as well as frustrated..

yea, but im in virginia she sin NY, her formatting it is way over he rhead.
