But this is not my question. I wan't to generate the computername by serialnumber in the bios. mmarable Posted September 14, 2006 Share Posted September 14, 2006 Take a look at a tool called "CompName.exe", it will pull the info you want and with a little batch file scirpting it will rename the computer.I used it to rename computers based upon the MAC address and/or the asset tag on Dell machines.
