Gekko_uk Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hi,I have a office LAN with around 40 users. We currently have a DC running DHCP/DNS (win 2k3).This handles internet access with Draytek router providing a basic form of monitoring.I would like to implement a higher level of monitoring and restrictions. We would like to be able to block certain access to certain users, we would also like the functionality of users having to provide username/password before internet access is granted.I have looking into Squid a little, but I am not very confident in the Linux enviroment as of yet, so I am looking for some advice from you, my fellow IT Guru's.RegardsGekko
uid0 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 We used to use winproxy from www.winproxy.cz, which was $300 for an unlimited user count when I bought it. It was quick to install, simple to administer. But now we use squid and dansguardian. It might take you a week or two to set up, but you'll like the control.
