heylonghair Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Last night I decided to update nlite - from nlite 1rc8. I downloaded and installed 1.01 Final but when I try to run it all I get is the "thinking" cursor for a second or two and that's it. When I check the task manager though nlite is running as a process and using 98-100% cpu. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with the same result. I've tried shutting down all other applications and I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the previous version - still the same thing. Now obviously its something on my computer because neither version works but what could it be - I haven't used nlite for awhile but it worked last time I used it. AVG reports no viruses and I haven't noticed any other weird behaviours. Anybody have any ideas?!? TIA.Ray
davk Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I also had this problem, did everything that you did except looking at cp usage. I had added .net2 addon with Ryans integrater but because of this problem I removed it from add/remove programs and thenreinstalled .net2 from microsofts site. Nlite worked. I only had this problem with all the latest Nlite-Ryan update pack and integrater.Hope this helps
heylonghair Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 Thanks for the reply. After spending the last day and a half trying to uninstall and reinstall with no luck I finally stumbled across this link. Turns out that certain Tenebril products don't play well with .NET. I uninstalled SpyCatcher and we're back in business. Hope this can maybe help someone else too.Ray
