rscott05 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I just did a clean install of Vista build 5536. Installation only took about 25 minutes but now I can 't connect to the internet. I have a realtek 8169/8110 gigabit NIC and vista has loaded driver 6.179.806.2006. I tried using the latest drivers from Realtek but that didn't work either. I have a simple home network with one pc running windows media edition, one with vista, and one running windows server 2003 r2. Anyone have any idea what might be the problem? Oh, I almost forgot, I have also disable IPV6.
fizban2 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 can you ping any webpages, what about DNS, where are you getting your IP from... more information would be helpful
bonestonne Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 have you tried restarting since installing vista?also, try turning off all your routers, and then turning them back on in order. that may also fix it.
