GAMEPORT PROBLEM ?!

I have a problem with my gamepad only with XP. When I was with '98 I just pluged in, control panel-game controllers-add... and everything is fine! But now with XP when I tried to do the same thing, when I pushed the ADD .. some error occured saying:

"Your Gameport or Gameport drivers are not properly configured. Please consult the Device Manager."

in the device manager is nothing that i can do

sounds like xp doesnt have a drive for you gameport/game controller. try going to the manufacturers site and look for a driver for it.
