HI,

i'm using win2000. Recently bought a new LCD monitor and installed it. Even though the picture and others are clear but text and windows icons are really hazzy. Whatever is coming from the windows is not clear Especially TEXT is quite unreadable.Even the taskbar icons are not clear. I have reinstalled display adaptor but still the same. Besides movies, games are alright with nice display.

Any support would be appreciable.

thanks so much,

regards,

Sunny

some LCDs dont handle low screen reslutions well. is it at the highest supported setting? (if you dont plan on using it like this is makes an lcd definatly not worth it, as they are basicly crap at anything but max setting.)

also, is it connected via DVI or VGA? if its vga, mess around with the settings on the lcd, something there might help. DVI should do this its self.

You can try the clear type settings in Display properties, Appearence, effects, check use the following method to smothe edges of screen fonts , choose clear type. This helped me when i was using an old graphic card and drivers didn't do a good job by themselves.

Thanks for your reply guys.

But my computer is still new. EVen though graphic card is on-board but shouldn't be a problem. My LCD monitor didn't come with any driver. REst is clear just the folder/text is unclear. I'm sure it's about the settings which i'm not able to figure out.

It is showing like this giving me headache.

ClearType will make it even more blurry...

I see your example image, it's perfectly fine.

The cause is definitely your monitor, look through its settings for "phase" or "image lock" or similar and adjust that. Basically it aligns the pixels in the analog signal to the actual pixel boundaries of the LCD. The resolution used should also match that of the LCD, as they have a fixed resolution.

Also ensure you use a high quality cable between the video card and the LCD. Cables of poor quality are not properly matched/terminated and can result in color shifts and ghosting caused by reflected signals.
