Folder activity

Hey guys just set up a faxing program but its run across a server so they access faxes from a shared drive on the desktop what i want to be able to do is have an alert play when the folder gets a file written to it so say this happens -- fax server receives a fax a noise plays they go into there mapped drive (folder on desktop)an see there new fax any ideas guys???
