August 20, 200323 yr don´t know, if this works on XP.. but on win2k it works..extract the file u want to modify, modify it, and copy it to $oem$\$$\System32.because, setup copies the setup files first, and the $oem$ folder at last, the original files will be overwritten..testet with setup.bmp and syssetup.dll on win2k, and it works.. the best thing is, you still have the original installation folder without any modification on the cd...try it..
