Viper81 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 ok, after i installed IE7 i haven't been able to get onto many websites because i get error messages saying i need to upgrade to IE5 or greater. not even Windows Update page will load. i tried to uninstall IE7 and downgrade back to IE6 with no avail. I also tried that Registry hack from microsoft in an attempt to remedy the problem and it didn't work either. anybody know how to fix my problem??attached are some screenshots of the errors that i receive.
dirtwarrior Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 IE 7 is still in beta so this might be 1 of the bugs. Try using system restore to toll the computer back.

JRosenfeld Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Some sites do not (yet) recognise the IE7 user agent string. You can make the web site think you are using IE6 by downloading (save to your hard drive in some convenient folder) the file from the link Internet Explorer 6 fromhttp://www.fiddlertool.com/useragent.aspxthen double click on the .reg file to merge its contents to the registry. Close/reopen IE 7.
