pcandpc
Hello?I am experiencing some problems inusing ActiveSync (4.1.0) with Soyo'smedia card reader/writer.Basically, I find myself going throughunplugging and replugging of pocketPCnemerous times in order for the Syncto recognize the PPC through the USBports on the card reader/writer.Also, I am (almost always) creatingsome new partnerships in the Syncin order for the synchronization to workbetween the two.I don't know if this is an issue withthe ActiveSync or with the poor cardreader/writer.Has anyone experienced anything similar? Thanks. pmshah
The problem is very definitely with your card reader /writer. What I am wondering about is why are you connecting your PPC to the usb port on theis reader inplace of the PC itself? For the card reader to have a downstream usb port it has to have usb hub chip. On cheap cards they use dicey chipsets which can give you problems. Secondly the drive power required may not be available through this downstream port. If you need to frequently plug/unplug the PPC cradle/cable you might as well get an A male to A female extension cable, about a couple of feet long to bring up the connection up front. I have been handling PPC with USB interface for more than 5 years. This kind of problems have arose on non powered hubs & extra long cables. Never when directly coinnected to the PC. It has never been ActiveSynch. Edited August 11, 2006 by pmshah
