dcarran Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I am use RIS on a W2K Server to install W2K SP4 and additional features on serveral machines. I have already slipstreamed SP4 and all the critical security updates into the installation package. along with various user programs using RISprep. Is there anyway to add IE6 Service Pack 1 with all the updates into the RIS installation package? Is there anyway to add Windows Media 9 (have to use 9 on W2K) with all the updates into the RIS installation package? Is there anyway to add Diret X 9.0c and all the updates into the RIS installation package?I understand this is a fully loaded question, but can anyone help me on this one??
tarquel Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 (edited) I know its not really an answer but...Have you thought about using this?http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversyst...on/sysreqs.mspxIt's free, and can help u install all updates you need locally, at a time that suits you.... using group policy or the local machine policy editor in 2k Pro.I use a combo of UA XP CD's and RIS installs, together with WSUS for keeping the machines up-to-date ....although I don't use 2k workstation at all in work.RegardsNath. dcarran Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 I do use WSUS and group policies. I thought it might be easier to create a package to deploy in RIS.
Ctrl-X Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 (edited) I deploy Win2k SP4 through a flat CD RIS image and install all mentioned components from Cmdlines.txt.Directory structure:[Options]SaveUninstallInfo=0Quiet=CShowErrors=0[Welcome]Display=0[SetupChoice]Display=0[Custom]Display=0SetupMode=2[Download]Display=0[PrepareSetup]Display=0[DiskSpace]Display=0[Progress]Display=1[Finish]Display=0[Reboot]Reboot=0[Upgrade]ReinstallAll=1Hope this helps!
