Autologon with Oobeinfo.ini?

I am using the oobeinfo.ini method to create one user on XP Home. Unfortunately the user created doesn't autologon and what's more when I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del the default user name in the user name box is "Owner". The user "Owner" does not exist, I checked that when I logged on as "Leo". From what I have read on the unattended guide, if only one user is created, it should autologon, is that correct? Could my problem have anything to do with using the classic login rather than the welcome screen, would be odd?

1. It's related I guess, but is a different problem. Previously I couldn't get the user to be created, now it won't autologon; probably should have just used the last post.

2. I didn't mean to copy the UnattenedInstall line across, I don't use it at all in my ISO. I don't get the OOBE showing without it anyway, including doesn't solve the problem.

3. Product key removed.

Are there any things I need to add to my winnt.sif or oobeinfo.ini to get the autologon working properly?

Why is it Leo in ini and Leo Kent in the sif?

I wasn't aware the two were related; surely the name in the sif refers to who the product is registered to, the name in the sif relates to my desired username. Should the two be the same?

Yep you're right, my oversight. But it's slightly confusing.

There's still a problem with the "Owner". In your prev post I suspected nLite might have something to do with it. Since I don't use nLite, someone else might know.

Until this is sorted out, your XP probably finds there's an account called Owner. Sadly, in XP HE, you can't use the Local Users and Groups to check (the file is there, but it won't work and I've never figured out why it's there then). I think you can use the net user command to see if Owner is listed. You could try logging in with the Owner account and see what happens. The fact that the name shows up on the classic logon screen must mean it's there.

And yes, if there's only one account (apart from the built-in Administrator) XP should autologon. So here's another reason to strongly suspect there's more than one account.

Sort out the Owner problem and the rest will go away!

If one types in "net users" to the cmd, which displays are users "Owner" does not appear, it is a really bizarre problem. I think I'll try installing a non nLite'ed disc with my winnt.sif and oobeinfo.ini and see what happens. If that fails it might be time to find another XP disc!
