my favorite media player is Windows Media Player 10,powerdvd,winamp,TTplayer

Winamp

If you enjoy the diversity of Internet radio, you might use AOL subsidiary Nullsoft's Winamp 5.09 player. Besides being highly configurable (with skins and plug-ins galore), Nullsoft's Shoutcast service puts a wealth of Internet radio and TV streams at your disposal. Unfortunately, Winamp's Internet TV selection may be a little too wide-ranging for some people: Among the Radiohead videos, pirate reruns, and eastern European news stations, you're likely to find more than a smattering of hard-core porn.

QMP (Quintessential Media Player) for audio:

+It's fast, stable, user-friendly (in a good way) with all the controls easily available, can be used to edit tags and names of multiple files at once.

-Limited support for different file types, playback progress slider is buggy, cannot change the playback speed.

For video: VLC and WMP+FFDShow

Don't really like any one of them since both have too many annoyances and faults, but they complement each other quite well because they are good at different things.

Real and QuickTime Alternative with MPC:

For those rare cases when the media on websites are in any of those formats.

Ive switched to media monkey instead of itunes and am pretty happy. It is visually nice to look at and works as fast as WMP. It does not handle video well so WMP is the backup. After on for 2 hrs, it is using 85K memory now. Better than most.
