dgloper Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Am desperately hoping to have solution with my RIPrep errors I'm getting.Being a solo IT guy here, I've been trying to make this RIS work for our school setup with plenty of OptiPlex GX260/270s for a long while. I'm only able to deploy the flat images of XP Pro SP2 among clients. And do riprep on older OptiPlexs with GX110 and GX240s. However, I'm not able to get past on GX260/270s on riprep. I'm getting error messages as following just before the end of riprep function:STARTROM.COM "The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see windows HELP."same goes with NTDETECT.COM, NTLDR, RISTNDRD.SIF.Have had some pains getting past the third party OEM NIC drivers, finally got past it with RIS flat image with help of some Microsoft Article IDs. Any guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
dgloper Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 No reply so far. Not sure if my question has either simple solution or complicated solution. I'm trying to avoid re-installation of RIS, don't want to mess up my current image with SIF that I finally am able to RIS to our batch of GX260/270 clients with straight Windows XP OS installs. Just want to be able to RIPrep the images with standard applications.
Linda27 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I had the same problem with GX520s and the Broadcom NICs.http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_n..._drivers.php#79
joeninety2 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I'm also experiencing this issue, I have a 2003 SP1 based RIS server and can install XP SP2 flat, however when attempting to risprep the image, i get the same errors as you.Has anyone else experienced this/seen any possible resolutions? The workstation I'm trying to riprep is a Dell GX270 with an Intel NicCheers!Joe
