right, got a spare pc, and i figured i'd join in the fun with you guys and give a modded 98 install a whirl..

got 98lite demo (i've read somewhere this will do fine)

could someone give me a few pointers of what to do, and quickly run through installation procedure.. i really can't remember 98se, got my 98se disc, my ME upgrade disc (don't know if i need it) and my keys for both :)

thanks in advance :w00t:

i've made endless xp unattended discs, so just need a few pointers really

well, the way i installed 98lite is i copied that file to a floppy, then have a boot disk handy too.

make sure your in dos mode, and after formatting the harddrive fat 32, copy 98lite EXE fle to the hard drive, then run it. it will then ask for the 98FE/SE/ME setup files. then pretty much follow the on screen stuff. its pretty easy.

if you need any more help ill be happy to grab 98 lite and try it on my computer and go through it with you.

well, at first you need to have a cd rom driver loaded so dos can read that drive, then you can run the 98lite file and start setup through that.

so, heres how i would do it:

1.) boot computer with windows 98 setup boot disk

2.) make sure that 98lite is on a seperate floppy disk so you can have it handy

3.) format the c: drive

4.) run 98lite, ( it will ask for 98 cabs, redirect it to your cd rom

5.) continue with setup as normal

6.) enjoy :P

hope you can get it to work, if not now, then tommorrow.

regards
