Cumulative updates question

Featured Replies

Hi every1. One easy question. Does a cumulative patch (e.g. IE, or outlook) mean that is only necessary to install the latest one?, or do I have to install them all ?

Thanks

you just have to install the latest hotfixes not only cumulative hotfixes.

all this fixes contain the older fixed stuff

If you look at the files replaced, often the cumulative patches replace the same .dlls with newer versions of the same files.

So you should just do latest patch because it's going to replace the files put in by earlier patches anyway.

A cumulative patch contains all patches released since the last cumulative or service pack patch was released...

eg. if service pack 1 was released 2 weeks ago, and 3 patches were released after that they would be placed into a cumulative patch...and so on and so forth....
