Hey all,

I have a copy of Server 2003 I'm trying to install on my Samsung SATA drive here. I have Windows XP running on an IDE drive. I haven't been able to get SErver 2003 to run yet. Every time I try to start it up, I get the error

STOP: 0x0000007B (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)

which means inaccessable_boot_device. I tried making a copy of the server 2003 disc and putting the TXTSETUP.SIF from the XP cd onto the server 2003 one but that doesn't work.

So, I guess I need code to put in TXTSETUP.SIF or something to get it to boot off my SATA drive? It must be detectecting it because I can format it and select it for install in Windows setup...

If anyone knows the code I need to boot my Server 2003, that would be most excellent. Thanks a ton in advance. :)

You need to install the 2003 to your Samsung hard drive if your 2003 wasn't previously allready installed on the same motherboard and hard drive type. You can't simply ghost a windows 2003 from an ide hard drive to a sata hard drive even when using the same motherboard.

If you have acces to acronis universal restore or his symantec counterpart (forgot the name), you should be able to boot in safe mode the windows 2003 on the Samsung hard drive and then modify drivers to be able to boot in normal mode.

Tried that too...It says that Windows has its own SATA drivers that are compatible and not to use the ones on my floppy unless otherwise instructed. I've tried installing with both the MS drivers and the floppy ones. I can't get around the 0x0000007B error though, even when starting up in safe/debug mode.

Does anyone have a TXTSETUP.SIF file for Server 2003 they can upload? I need a new TXTSETUP.SIF that's compatible with my nVidia 2 chipset and Samsung Spinpoint SATA drive.
