  1. Solved. I had a suspicion one of the components came loose, so I punched the bottom of the computer, and the Windows 7 install went swimmingly.
  2. My old Acer Aspire One is very temperamental, but recently I haven't been able to get Windows 7 installer to even load all the way from a USB drive. I know it's possible because I've done it plenty of times before on this same machine. The only difference I've made to the computer is replacing the stock Atheros wireless card with an Intel Pro Wifi 3945 card. I'm mainly a Linux person, so a few months ago I noticed most Linux installers refused to boot off a USB drive unless I turned off ACPI. Is there any sort of equivalent of doing that for windows? I usually make it to where it says "Setup is starting" before the computer freezes, however I've made to to the point where it says "Extracting System Files (0%)...". I've updated the BIOS and made sure nothing is loose internally. I'm out of ideas, what else should I do? Edit: Windows Server 2003 seems to have successfully installed.
  3. Tried that too...It says that Windows has its own SATA drivers that are compatible and not to use the ones on my floppy unless otherwise instructed. I've tried installing with both the MS drivers and the floppy ones. I can't get around the 0x0000007B error though, even when starting up in safe/debug mode. Does anyone have a TXTSETUP.SIF file for Server 2003 they can upload? I need a new TXTSETUP.SIF that's compatible with my nVidia 2 chipset and Samsung Spinpoint SATA drive.
  4. I'm not ghosting it over (i think)...I'm installing directly from the CD to the SATA drive.
  5. Hey all, I have a copy of Server 2003 I'm trying to install on my Samsung SATA drive here. I have Windows XP running on an IDE drive. I haven't been able to get SErver 2003 to run yet. Every time I try to start it up, I get the error STOP: 0x0000007B (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4) which means inaccessable_boot_device. I tried making a copy of the server 2003 disc and putting the TXTSETUP.SIF from the XP cd onto the server 2003 one but that doesn't work. So, I guess I need code to put in TXTSETUP.SIF or something to get it to boot off my SATA drive? It must be detectecting it because I can format it and select it for install in Windows setup... If anyone knows the code I need to boot my Server 2003, that would be most excellent. Thanks a ton in advance.
