Initial System Boot after Install Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

Working with Windows XP Pro, after a clean yet modifyed install the first boot brings up the configuring windows stuff, do you want to turn on automatic updates, do you want to register and the add user(s) box stuff. Is there a way to turn off all that junk and get straight to the logon prompt to logon as Administrator? I have searched Google and the forums and am either asking the wrong question or something. I have used a winnt.sif to set the Administrator password so its not blank if that helps. Any suggestions?

well, if you configure your unnatended setup to autologon as administrator and you set a password, it won't log you until you type the password, maybe this is what you need. I use nLite to configure my XP installs.
