bobmac Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I have xp sp2 installed. Up to now I haven't bothered about a display driver. I just accepted that xp had recognised my monitor which appeared to work OK.I recently purchased a flat screen monitor (Viewsonic 702b) and attempted to install the driver (from the cd that came with the monitor). I accessed the Device Manager and noticed that the monitor driver was set to VGA standard. When I attempted to install a driver I got a message informing me that there was no driver installed. I attempted to install the driver from the cd by setting the path to the driver folder. XP seemed to perform a search then displayed a message informing me that there was not enough information to install the driver.I then returned to my original monitor and tried to install the correct driver for it (LG 710B) with the same result. I then downloaded the 'latest' drivers from the manufacturers and tried again with the same result.Has anyone any idea how I can overcome this problem.Bobbobmac@xxxnetspace.net.au (if replying to this address, please remove the xxx first)Title edited -- Please, use [TAGS] in your topic's title.--Sonic
