Windows XP won't run installation CDs

Having half reinstalled all my software, my reinstalled XP has now lost interest in reinstalling the rest. I get to the startup interference on each CD, click install, get a few seconds of the hour glass and then it's as if nothing had ever happened.

Any ideas what is going on and how to fix it??

Think you need to reinstall & discount each software as you go?

Some trial & error may be required. Unless of course you have a hardware problem.

Thanks, I'll try that. Do you reckon there are just some applications that interfere with Windows per se or is it more likely to be a local error on my machine?
