XPSP2Question: Since SP2, I'm not able to open local files, linked

Hi,

I assume this problem is security related in some way, but I'm intressted in what possible sp2 patch did this, or if there is any workaround:

If I create a html file and within it I link to a txt file which i place on my local c:, I can then open the file when i execute the link from the html file when it is placed somewhere on my computer.

If i on the other hand move the html file to a network resource and run it from there, I still see that the link points to "<a href="file://C:\test.txt">open test</a>" but nothing happends when i trigger it.

Does anyone know any workaround or more in detail regarding this problem/issue/feature?
