details view multi-column sorting

I figure this is the best place to ask this question so here it goes.

Is it possible to force windows xp to allow mulit-column sorting in a folder from details view? If xp doesn't do this naturally then is there an extension, tweak or software solution?

I hope that was clean but if not here's an example...

I have a folder full of different graphic file (tiff, psd, gif, jpg, ai, etc.) all with different dates, sizes, times etc. Can I sort then first alphabetically then by file type?
