Viewing Raw File Data

We are using a VoIP Billing software program that produces calling records (CDR's). The problem is, when the S/W output it's csv file, and I try to import it into Excel, the fields are messed up. I think it's the S/W's problem but I would like to check it myself. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to view a file in a way where I can actually see the raw text, etc. thanks

use notepad to open it. then the commas and double quotes will still be there for you to see. and anything else that excel may be stripping away will still be visible.
