I recently bought a laptop (HP Pavillion dv5000t) and decided to format it to get rid of all the preloaded junk on there. The installion starts normally; It loads the drivers from the disk (and one additional one from a floppy I have); then it goes through the partitioning of the drives and asks if I want to format the drive. The problem is, after this, windows asks me to put in the floppy containing the driver for the Intel Matrix Storage Manager; the problem is, this is the floppy that I loaded the driver from, so it's already in there. I tried making new disks with previous versions, but no matter what I do, Windows won't let me through. Any advice?

I had the same problem with an HP Pavilion DV8000 series. I worked around it by letting the install format the drive then quitting the install when asked for the floppy for the second time. Having restarted the install I merely didn't do the format this time negating the need for the floppy to be re-inserted.

I know its not a solution but as a workaround it allowed me to clean build the machine.
