mcintire21 Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 My friends computer gets an error on bootup that says, "we're sorry for the inconvenience, but windows did not start. Either a hardware or software change may have caused this. Then goes on to explain some options on what method to use to start up. Last known good config, normally, safe mode, etc. It does this everytime the computer is turned on and he has selected all the different options but all of them end up back at that same screen. He was going to reformat but he can't enter setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
nitroshift Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 form bios set the pc to boot off the cd drive and insert the windows installation cd. restart and voila!PS. you also will be given the choice to repair the previous installation of windows.however, that sounds more of a hardware problem than a software one.
mcintire21 Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 I don't think I can enter the bios screen. The only one that comes up is the one I described early with those options. Is there another way to get in that screen or boot from the cd. Thanks.
mcintire21 Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Everything's working fine now. Thanks for the help nitro.
