DucknCover Posted April 15, 2006 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Ok , here goes hope you guys can help ............ i been operating on x98 up till today when i got me a new pc which is ofcourse on xp. whilst on 98 i wanted to play ps2 online but i can only get dsl in my area so the only way i could connect a ps2 to dsl connection was to enable internet sharing which was a piece of p*** to do connecting via 2 way lead to ethernet card in pc . problem is i tried same thing with xp but 90% of bandwidth is going to pc when im not using it and ps2 online is as slow as fck, it connects alright but is impossible to play online at such slow speed whilst my pc is getting like 1.7- 1.9 of my 2 mb connection!!! what did i do wrong when setting it up or is this normal for xp to be so s***e at internet sharing surely it should be atleast 50/50 please please help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! snafumaster Posted April 16, 2006 Share Posted April 16, 2006 A cheap 4 port switch would solve your problem as well. I bought a used one that has 8 ports from an online sale for 15 bucks. I use that to connect 1 server, 4 desktops and with a wireless access point two more laptops to the internet simultaniously(yes, I have addiction issues) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
