grunt58 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I use a cover sheet made in word. Every time i use it I have to change various things i.e. # of pages who it's adressed to etc. Is there a way to highlight the things that need to change so as I don't foget them? I've tried the hightlight tool but that what i highlight remains when i convert to a .pdf.Basically i'm looking for a way to mark things that I need to change but that marking doesn't show up when i print or convert to .pdf.Thanks.
Scooter513 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Have you considered converting the document to a form?To do this, all you will need to add Form Fields to the document (easiest way to add them is by using the Forms toolbar). With Form Fields, you have the option to display shading for the fields, but it doesn't actually print (see sample below). Here is a quick overview of how I created this document in case you haven't used this feature before.Make sure Forms Toolbar is visable (View --> Toolbars --> Forms)Click in the Cell/Area where you need the field to beClick the 'ab|' Button on the toolbar to add the fieldMake sure that the Form Field Shading option is selectedMake sure that the Protect Form option is selectedIn this sample, I had also double clicked on the Date Form Field (prior to protecting form), and changed the type to 'Current Date' so that is automatically populates the information.Hope this helps,Scott
