MS Office Student & Teacher Edition 2003

I recently installed MS OS & T Edition 2003 on a Windows XP Home on my desktop PC. It will not allow me to write to or change things in previous documents or print anything from previous or new documents. It will not allow me to save new documents. An error message pops up each time telling me my macros are turned off and I need to turn them on. I cannot find anything about macros. Can anyone help me?
