Replacing IE engine with other browsers engine?

After reading some information at this page i believe that IE engine can be replaced by other browser's engine.

I have a binary that already uses IE, can I make it use Mozilla?

Yes, use the IEPatcher tool to patch the original binary. Results may vary from app to app.

I've tried this tool, but app still use IE engine (i've installed mozilla and activex control). Mozilla activex is used to show web pages on linux through wine, so why this can't be used in windows? I've tried installing ReactOS special executable which is used in wine after removing IE engine and apps are not working :( Maybe someone succeed repacing IE engine and can help me :)

I don't believe you can use any of the tools on that page to completely replace the IE engine. You would need to completely replace most shell .dll's on the system too to make this work, as IE is tied into shell .dll's that other fairly important components of the OS use as well (explorer.exe, for example). I don't believe the activex features on that page can substitute for the IE engine. They can work within it, but not replace it, from what I gather.
