Hi,

I wondered what should I do in order to give another person the rights to change my appointments on outlook 2003 from his computer (another computer on the LAN) using his username. For example, a secretary can update her boss's schedule from her computer.

What are the configurations needed on the boss's computer and on the secretary's computer ?

I'd also appreciate recommendations for good books /websites regarding outlook and office.

Thanks,

Guy

You have 2 basic options for this depending on what you are trying to accomplish

Configure them as a Delegate in Outlook

Select Tools --> Options from the main Toolbar

Go to the Delegates tab and Click Add

In here you can configure whatever permissions are necessary for all aspects of Outlook. You also have the option to configure how meeting requests will be handeled. If you check the box highlighted in red, the admin/employee that you are setting up permissions for will receive all of your meeting requests instead of you.

After this has been completed, the other person will have to configure their outlook to open the additional mailbox.

Share your Calendar with them

In the 'Navigation Pane', select the 'Share My Calendar...' link

In here you can add additional users and configure the type of access that they will need.

Once you have added their permissions, the other person will have to click on the 'Open a Shared Calendar...' link in the 'Navigation Pane', and add your user name.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

Scott
