my family forgot our administrator's password, because we haven't used it in so long, so i was wondering, if there was a way to get it back w/o having to order something or get it wiped. if anyone has any suggestions, please tell me. thx

If it's an NT-based OS (Windows NT, 2000, XP, or 2003), google "ntpasswd".

Do any of the other users have admin rights? If so log in as them and reset the administrator password.

Or if you really want to try and crack it you can try 'john the ripper' to try and crack it if you don't want to reset it and you didn't mae it too complicated.
