jollytim Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I have installed Vista build 5342. I am having difficulty getting to recognize my Kingston KNE110TX ethernet card. I've tried the Kingston site and have several versions of the driver (NT, 2000, etc.) and none seem to work. I had no problem with XP or any of the other Windows flavors. Updating hardware on this computer is not an option, if a software solution cannot be found, I will return to XP. Aren't betas great?Any help would be much appreciated....A little more info,798MB Ram30GB HDDBiostar M6TBA moboP3 - 800Mhz CpuATI Rage Fury PRo video card (don't laugh it works.....)DVD-RomCD Reader WriterIt's a dated computer for sure as it's not my daily driver, it's mainly one of my testbeds....
fizban2 Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 yeah if you can't find drivers off of kinstons site, you are SOL until they write some that will work with vista
jollytim Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 Well I think I have this hurdle overcome....when I booted with one of those All-in-one dvds, I noticed that it identified my NIC as a Lite-on communications compatible pci network card.I then searched for a driver of this description....I found a driver for NetGear-FA310TX.When I went through the Vista install process and used this driver....lo and behold it worked!Hope this may help someone else too....
ashokag99 Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 So you found a driver for FA310TX which worked on Windows Vista Beta 2? I have a FA310TX and Windows Vista is refusing to recognize the card (XP SP2 worked fine). The driver I got from Netgear site did not work. I am looking for a driver for FA310TX which will work on Vista. Can you send me the driver please? Thanks.
