RID master role

hi,

we have a domain with one DC, yesterday my RID master role faild to start. i read all doc about rid and FSMO.

but i have 2 Q :

1- i think i can not biring DC back ? ( do i lost every thing )

2- i install new AD with same information that last AD had ( netbios name, IP, admin with same password ...), every thing was well, then i restore SYSTEM STATE BACK UP from 1 week ago ( my server was working well 1 week age), after restart DC, all users were back, but still RID master role failed ? i wana know dose system stat back, up FSMO role ? if not why again i see this error ?

any experince would help ?

Can you add a second DC to your domain and transfer the roles to the other DC via ntdsutil? If you remove the DC, the AD and all data within it will be lost.

A good life lesson in AD - always have more than one DC and more than one GC server.

i solve the problem, after restoring system state back up i should delete site replication link.
