Stall on startup

Hi I hope someone out there can help with this stupid problem!! My comp has started to hang @ updating escd or building dmi pool. Have done the enable reset config data which sometimes works, but not always, I really don't want to do this everytime I boot up so any help would be appreciated!

Provide more information on your hardware?

I'd remove PCI cards one at a time until the problem disappears, then that is probably what is causing it.

Resetting BIOS setting might help as well.
