reksp13 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I have finished building my media center 2005 pc. When I first built it every thing worked fine, but now with every passing day the computer is just getting slower and slower. After about the first day I started to notice the video has slowed down. I can play a DVD and the video is fine but live TV and Video games (GTA) are the problem. Today every thing just went south the sound now is even skipping. The standard XP functions seem to work fine I am up to date with all up-dates and the newest drivers I can’t imagine what the problem is. This is not my first time around a computer however my knowledge is limited about media center. I know that there is no possible chance of a virus or spy ware because I do not surf the web with this pc and just in case, I have virus and spy ware protection, every thing has been scanned. The os was bought form tiger direct it is OEM so I don’t have tech support. If anyone can help with this thank you so much I am so ready to enjoy this media center experience.List of hardware:CPU: Intel Celeron 2.66Motherboard: Asus P4R800-vmMemory: Slot 1 DDR 1 GB PC3200 Slot 2 DDR 512 PC3200 (Dedicated for Video) VGA: ATI Radeon 9200 Intergrated graphicsTV Tuner: ATI Theater 550 Pro MCEChipset: ATI Radeon 9100 IGP/IXP 200Audio: ADI AD 1888 6-channel Audio CODECPower: ATX 400 WattCd/Dvd: Sony Dual Layer 16x CD/DVD BurnerNOTE: All Media Center DriversSoftware:Windows XP Media Center 2005 SP2 Roll-up 2NVIDIA PureVideo DecoderNero 7 Ultra EditionATI Catalyst Control CenterMCE Caller IdMCE Alarm ClockMCE Diagnostic kitMicrosoft Office Pro 2003Tweak MCETune Up Utilities 2006Spy-bot Search & DestroyKaspersky Pro Anti VirusAdobe Photo Shop CS2
nitroshift Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 try reducing the textures and details in the games and see if there's any improvement. radeon 9200 is quite sluggish in big games.
