GLO Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Hi, im using Windows XP Pro sp2, and have jsut started using a web based remote desktop application. The problem i get is that after about 5 minutes, the administrator logon window pops up and cancels my connection ( i suspec that it is also terminating my wifi connection too!)I dont have any screensavers activated at all. so what could be the problem here? Thanks
cluberti Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Does your session disconnect as well, or when you reconnect do you go back into the same session you were working in?
GLO Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 I have to restart the session of the remote desktop app as the https tunnel was broken. It lets me click the administrator user and log back in, after the wifi connection comes back onNote that the remote pc (whilst my wife is watching it) brings up the admin user logon window first, even though i can still work remotely for about another 20seconds. then i get discconnected and it says that the remote pc is offline.Generally then, i get my wife to enable the wifi again, and i can log back in!
cluberti Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Does the problem occur if you use the mstsc client? I know you're using a web-based package, but does the issue occur when you're just using the mstsc client to the machine?
GLO Posted April 4, 2006 Author Posted April 4, 2006 i havent been able to try the mstsc client across the internet. The only time i used XP's remote desktop was when i was within my lan.
