date formt automaticaly resetting

i want DD.MM.YYYY For my application i can chage to this format but after some time it will automatically resetting to DD.MMM.YYYY. How can i make it stable ..

OS = 2000 Prof + sp 4

ie6 +sp1

It gives you three MMM? That doesn't seem to even be possible...

Try changing the date format under the Regional and Language settings.

Click on the Customize button then on the Date tab. You can specify short and long date format.
