Safely Remove Hardware Icon Summary?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Sorry if I am missing something here but; I have just read thru alll these posts:

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Se...e+hardware+icon

and am still confused.

I see a summary by Ripken 204 but then a bunch more posts that dispuite methods etc.

I am a newbie and hence am not all that confident in just tryiong all these things.

Is there a new concise, eplanation of each method to date with consequences etc.?

I just built my 1st system and the my SATA2 HDD is responsible for the icon.

Again, sorry if I'm out of line posting.

Without knowing all your hardware installed....I can tell you that i have that icon on the taskbar...for my HP Photosmart Printer...that has the "Memory Card Slots" and happens when you have USB Device Connected...here is some information that might help you more....if your wanting to remove it...your out of luck..the only thing you can do is 'hide it always'...by right clicking the taskbar/properties/Taskbar/Customize
