BigDaddy Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 If I have WU on AUTOMATIC then it will automaticly download and install the updates. Which is OK 4 ME. But the thing that gets on my nervs is the updates requiring a restart. Because those updates will constanlty annoy you every 10min to restart the computer and if U dont abort it it will restart the computer. How do I disable this annoying feature?
dhdan Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 (edited) I know in windows xp you are able to adjust the settings. I'm assuming it works the same in 2003 but you'll have to test to know for sure. I think this resets the prompt to 10 hours between warnings and won't reboot with someone logged on.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001"RebootRelaunchTimeout"=dword:000002d0"RebootRelaunchTimeoutEnabled"=dword:00000001"RebootWarningTimeout"=dword:0000001e"RebootWarningTimeoutEnabled"=dword:00000001 Edited March 28, 2006 by dhdan
