D'Aristotle Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 (edited) Sorry if this is a rudimentary process, but I could not find a solution anywhere. Perhaps, I am not wording it correctly in Google searches, because my search query is either too specific, or too broad, to come up with what I am looking for.Specifically, I want to extract over 2000 jpg photos, embedded in over 200 folders, into a single folder. Obviously, this can be done manually, but would take a very long time.Thank you to anyone who can help. Edited March 19, 2006 by D'Aristotle
net_user Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 do a search for *.jpgafter the search is complete...in the search results, select all the pictures (ctrl + a) then cut (ctrl + x) paste (ctrl + v) into the folder of your choice
bledd Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 are they in folders, or in a zip or rar in folders?if first, use the above advice, if not then when extracting, untick 'use subfolders' or whatever it says!
D'Aristotle Posted March 20, 2006 Author Posted March 20, 2006 Thank you, net user and bledd. Those instructions allowed me to do exactly what I wanted to do. I even realized I could extract all files within a folder tree by doing a *.* search in the specified folder. Thanks, again, for the prompt responses.
