bobeta Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 this is my problem, a couple of days ago I had to reinstall windows xp cause of some problem I had, everything went fine, except internet explorer, it's seriously messed up now, I can't open any javascript links or anything else that involves javascript, when I load a website that uses javascript I get this error mesage on the left bottom part of the browser window: error on page, so I click it to see the details, and it's always something like this:line: (insert number here)char: (insert number here)Error: 'ipwindow.location' is null or not an object (either that or: Object expected)Code: (insert number here)URL: (insert website here)I already checked to see if I had javascript enabled and scripts and I do...and I do have the latest JRE installed, but I don't think is that cause javascript games and porgrams run fine...it's only when it comes to buttons and links on websites that it doesnt work, now I don't know if it uses the same kind of javascript or if it has something to do with html X_=I've tried almost everything, spyware scan, malware scan, antivirus scan, PC repair scans and nothing, nothing fixes this, and I cant reinstall IE because I don't have the winxp CD, please helpTitle Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on.--Zxian
LLXX Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I believe you can download IE from the Microsoft site.
bobeta Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 I believe you can download IE from the Microsoft site.I know..I tired that too, but it says that I already have an updated version of IE and that the installation cannot continue, I even did what microsoft told me to do so that message doesn't pop up but it didnt work, I also tried installing IE 7 beta 2 but the problem didn't go away
