[Help] - Drives hide upon eject

Hi guys. I have a little problem.

My computer's drives are as follows:

A: Flash Drive

B: Digitial Camera

C: Hard Drive

D: Recovery Drive

E: DVD Player Drive

F: CD Player/Writer Drive

G: SD Card (for my camera/MP3 player)

H: Unused, but if it is, it will be for SmartMedia / xD

I: Unused, but it it is, it will be for MS / MS Pro

J: Unused, but it it is, it will be for CompactFlash I/II

K: MP3 player with SD card inserted

I want the drives on My Computer to display as follows when plugged in (sorry, SD Card or MP3 player aren't shown in these examples but it doesn't matter since A and B are the real problem):

and like this when unplugged:

device_off.png

not_plugged.jpg

What happens is, this drives disappear from explorer when unplugged which is NOT what I want. I want it to function like G, H, I and J: if they're plugged or unplugged the drive letter still shows.

What about H, I and J? They are unused, in a respect. After the above problem is solved, I will move them to X, Y, Z, hide them with Tweakui, and move my MP3 player from K to H so I will have 8 drives (A to H) that always show whether plugged or unplugged. Skipping letters or numbers bugs the hell out of me :-)

Thank you for help in advance,

Jard Dooku

And why can't I change my DVD and CD-RW drives to A or B?

I don't think you can make them stay since they've been unmounted.

A and B cannot be DVD or CD since those two letters are traditionally reserved for the floppies.

Just live with it.

Oh, there's always a way. Just know C++ EXTREMELY WELL.

Kidding. I know there's a simpler way and I must find it!

By, the way, now my Printer/Scanner/Copier is coming up as Drive K when it came up as nothing before.

Well, I'm happy now that I did this:

Is there any way to move the "My Drives" icon to just below the My Computer one by editing the registry or something? You can't just drag it.

I'm going to sleep now. Hopefully I'll see something in the morning, thanks! :)
