I'm getting to really hate NTL, their service is crap, their help and support is crap, we had a NTL box that the we were picking the connection from, we then got rid of the box and we got a modem, I was on holday at the time but my Mum was hopeless, it wasn't working at all, the help and support didn't know, every time we called it was just "Reboot all Computers and the Modem" I came back from holiday and found it was todo with the MAC Address. Also, we have regular shutdowns from the service hanging around 15-30 mins, and we defo know it's their side.

Anyway, is anyone with UKonline? Are they a quality ISP? Is their service and Help and support any good?

I have no idea about UK Online's service, but can recommend BT Broadband, a little more expensive than the rest but I have had virtually no downtime with my service. One of my buddies is on AOL, which he says is good as one of the packages have unlimited download limits.
