VB.NET - Messing around with Tab Controls

Righto! I've got a project that I'm working on and there's a particular style I wanna use (Using Visual Studio 2005 Pro btw). I like the look of the visual style of the tab control/pages. What I wanna do is use a tab control as a panel... (or any other method) so that it will look like this...

... except I cant get the label to change its background to that of the tab control (i think the label has the main form as a parent?).

What i'm looking for is a way to make it look like it does in the image with the label having correct transpency. Is there a way to do this using tab controls? or is there a component out there that can be used instead? or is there a component that can be manipulated to look like that?

*sigh* its really annoying so any help would be lank appreciated!
