I have installed ordinary XP many times, no problem, recently purchased MCE(2005) 3 disk set in New York, the disks appear to me to be a bonefied edition. On return to UK I tryed to install on my AMD2600 machine. After format etc Disk 1 goes in ok with supplied product key, then when asked disk 2 starts ok, then after a while, it asks for i386 file from SP2. I put a copy of (Service Pack 2 disk) but it does not take the files from SP2. Have tryed loading i386 onto the other installed HDD and directed Disk 2 to take the files from there, no luck, still wont take all the files. So if I skip i386. Internet Exployer does not work, or anything else connected to the internet like my wireless connection devices. Also on Opening MCE, tells me my Graphics card is not supported.

Please can anyone help point me in the right direction to solve this problem.

It's asking you to browse CD2 to MediaCtr/I386 to find the Sonic.cab, MediaCtr.cab, NetFX.cab or Pus.cab. It says it wants Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Disc 2.

Innocent Devil is correct, you need to put DISC 1 back in.

I have installed MCE2005 multiple times, both standard and unattended (self built).

When it asks for DISC 2 you put in DISC 2, then when it askes for the SP2 disc,

you put DISC 1 back in... SP2 is already intergrated into DISC 1. Its just like installing

any other 2 CD programs, they always have you put DISC 1 back in towards the

end of the install.

Why you got 3 cd's for MCE2005, I haven't a clue... Normally MCE2005 is 2 CDs.
